I started to update this some four hours ago but I got kicked off just as I was about to save. So here’s my best recollection of what I started (and then some):
I’m sitting in one of n Starbucks cafes here in Trinoma waiting for my son Nicco to txt me that it’s time to go. Sigh. Soon I will start to wonder where he is or what time he’s coming home. They grow up so quickly.
According to our doctor, Luth’s x-ray last week looked like her x-ray last November 2007. That was the x-ray after her 1st round of chemo. And at the time it was a ‘good’ x-ray. The doctor also said Luth looked good…. her skin is actually a bit dry and ‘nagbabalat’ which is supposedly an indicator that the meds are working. So the news is generally good. Come first week of March, Luth will have a CT Scan of her chest area and her liver. That should give us, literally, a clearer idea if we should be happy or not.
Diego will have his JS Prom this Feb. 14. He is better than his dad because he has a date. And he has a nice spiffy suit to boot. Do you remember your prom?
p.s.
Edwin Loyola’s Photo Exhibit at Philam has been extended to Feb. 25!

So sorry I haven’t updated in a while. I’m currently trying to move the site to a new hosting service so I’m keeping the updates to a minimum… and yes Christmas and the holiday season did come and put everything else in stasis so now that 2009 is here, I need to do a lot of catching up on things (among them ‘work’ ugh!).
So just some quick updates -
Your very generous contributions will help us through the next 2 months already. I do hope we will get very good news soon. Luth’s doctor decided to move back the scans to early Feb – that way we’ll have more definitive results as to whether the new meds are doing what they’re supposed to.
Luth is also on a new ‘all-natural’ diet that is supposed to strengthen her good cells. And so far it looks like the diet is working – Luth says she feels pretty good.
And last but not the least I am still very much awed and humbled by the kindness of people. It makes one wonder why all of us aren’t in a better place.
More later.
I’m happy to tell everyone that through your help and support, we’ve been able to purchase Luth’s meds for thefirst month. She started taking the meds last Dec 4. Now let’s wait and see. Of course lots of prayers will give us that ‘winning edge’.
I posted my SOS on the net roughly four weeks ago. And yes, people have responded tremendously to my little call for help. There’s a scene in Field Of Dreams where Kevin Costner’s character steps out and is dumbfounded to see the long line of cars coming to see what he had built.
And it is pretty much the same for me. People have come. There were people from my present, people from my past, and even people whom I’ve never met before. And some of these encounters have allowed me to look at life through a brighter lens. More
I’d like to thank the people who made the CIS Reunion Lunch For A Cause happen last Saturday, Dec. 13. More
