My dad named me after his father and himself.  Hence the name Lorenzo Gil C. Enriquez.  The ‘C’ stands for Cruz, and not ‘Cho’ as my college buddies concluded.   Cho is a shortened version of Enchong which in turn would be the default familiar pet name for Lorenzo here in the Philippines.  At least that was the case in my dad’s time.   The Lorenzos of the current generation now go with the sexier Enzo.     And yes I was once a Larry, and a Lary, and even a Lory.   But let’s not go there.

I’m a computer person by profession and while I did not have to compile software using punched cards, I am old enough to have enjoyed sleepless nights playing Loderunner on a 16K Apple ][.   Uh the 16K represented computer memory, not the price.

My time off from work is spent mostly as Dad to three wonderful boys.  I am now Mom to them, too - because of a particularly nasty evil thing called cancer.

And why the blog?  For some strange reason, I like writing.   The most that I remember my parents writing were To-Whom-It-May-Concern letters whenever I got sick so I don't think it came from them.   No matter.  Some people think I should continue to write - and some actually seem to like reading what I write... so if I can make you happy, then I oughta do it, right?
